candice j. prior started out as a dancer but got into playing with metals and glass when injuries ended her career.  she took jewellery  classes at nova scotia college of art and design university in the adult program and also at the nova scotia centre for craft and design.  glass bead making instructions were next with karen sievert, phillip doucette and susan hood.  pottery was not far behind at the nova scotia centre for craft and design and  at turnstile pottery.   she has been a member of the metal arts guild of nova scotia since 2003, was vice president in 2004, and president 2005-2007.  she won best piece in the nova scotia category, as well as best piece in the alternative materials category and honorable mention in the all silver category in the metal arts guild's annual exhibition and competition in 2006.  in 2007, she won honorable mention in the alternative materials category and the open category.  she is a juried member of the nova scotia designer craft council and serves as a member of the exhibition committeee.   teaching classes in wire work, glass bead making and beginning jewellery skills is just a way of sharing the fun.  her work is for sale at the moorings gallery in mahone bay, bogside gallery in halifax and the art gallery of nova scotia.
